Anish Kapoor alla Biennale ma anche in mostra a Milano

Anish Kapoor (Bombay. 1954) è uno scultore e architetto indiano. Nato da padre indiano e da madre ebrea irachena, a diciannove anni, dopo aver studiato due anni in Israele in una scuola di elettronica, si sposta in Inghilterra per iscriversi alla scuola d'arte, desideroso di approfondire una ricerca che lo portasse a rispettare maggiormente le sue ragioni interiori. Si appassiona alle macchine celibi di Marchel Duchamp e conosce colui che diverrà il suo maestro Paul Neàgu. Si ispira anche all'arte povera e Joseph Beuys.

L’anno della svolta è 1990: è l'anno della partecipazione alla XLIV Biennale di Venezia e si presenta come il rappresentante della Gran Bretagna.

Kapoor è sicuramente uno degli scultori più influenti e all'avanguardia della sua generazione; emerso agli inizi degli anni ottanta le sue opere hanno sempre incontrato il rispetto e l'apprezzamento di pubblico vasto e non specialistico, nonché la benedizione dei critici.

Anish Kapoor (Bombay. 1954) is an Indian architect and sculptor. Born to a Jewish mother and Indian father in Iraq, at nineteen, after studying two years in Israel in a school of electronics, travels to England to enroll in art school, eager to deepen the research that would lead to greater respect its internal reasons. Falls in love with Marcel Duchamp's bachelor machines and knows who will become his teacher Paul Neagu. It also draws on Arte Povera and Joseph Beuys. Breakthrough year was 1990: the year of participation in the XLIV Venice Biennale, and presents itself as the representative of Britain. Kapoor is one of the most influential and innovative sculptors of his generation emerged in the early eighties his work has always met with respect and appreciation of non-specialist audience, and as well as the blessing of critics.
