Pete Fecteau

Pete Fecteau è un designer. Ha frequentato il Kendall College of Art & Design a Grand Rapids, Michigan, ed ha raggiunto il suo BFA in Digital Media Design nel 2007. Lavora principalmente come progettista interattivo e contribuisce a creare esperienze online e mobile.

Dopo la laurea all'università, Fecteau accettato una posizione come integratore di design presso Spout.com, con sede a Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spout.com fu poi venduta e il gruppo divenne Studios Melograno. Studios Melograno, di proprietà di Rick Devos (figlio di Amway co-fondatore Dick Devos), creò ArtPrize, uno degli eventi più grandi nel mondo dell'arte. ArtPrize venne inaugurato nel 2009 e attirò 1.262 artisti e Fecteau decise di fare volontariato aiutando la registrazione degli artisti. Fecteau volle parecipare al concorso nel 2010, ma non riusciva a trovare un'idea originale. Quando una sera andò a casa a dormire e sognò che stava usando il cubo di Rubik per creare qualcosa. Al risveglio, Fecteau decise di mettere in opera la sua idea.

Pete Fecteau is a designer. He attended Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and reached her BFA in Digital Media Design in 2007. He works primarily as an interactive designer and helps to create online and mobile experiences.

After graduating college, Fecteau accepted a position as integrator of design at Spout.com, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spout.com was then sold and the group became Pomegranate Studios. Pomegranate Studios, owned by Rick Devos (son of Amway co-founder Dick Devos), created ArtPrize, one of the biggest events in the art world. ArtPrize was inaugurated in 2009 and attracted 1,262 artists and Fecteau decided to volunteer helping recording artists. Fecteau parecipare wanted the competition in 2010, but could not find an original idea. When one evening he went home to sleep and dreamed that he was using the Rubik's cube to create something. Upon awakening, he decided to implement is idea.

Scultura moderna? Non perdetevi Sayaka Kajita Ganz

Sayaka Kajita Ganz è nata in Giappone, ma vive e lavora in Indiana, USA. Utilizza oggetti di recupero, principalmente in plastica, come utensili da cucina, stampelle per abiti ecc, per creare magnifiche sculture ispirate al mondo animale. Dice del suo lavoro: “È un modo per me di ricordarmi che anche se possono esistere dei conflitti oggi, c’è un modo affinchè tutti i pezzi combacino tra loro".

Sayaka Kajita Ganz was born in Japan but now she’s living and working in Indiana, USA. She use discarded objects, mainly made in plastic, like kitchen tools, hangers, etc, to create stunning sculptures inspired by animals and nature. She says about her work “It is a way for me to contemplate and remind myself that even if there is conflict right now, there is a way for all the pieces to fit together".

Ratti gonfiabili compaiono a Venezia

Passeggiando per le viuzze di Venezia arrivo nei pressi di un giardino dove compaiono questi ratti giganti. Dopo un'attenta indagine scopro che si tratta dei cosidetti Union Rats regolarmente usati dai sindacati americani per protestare contro i datori di lavoro che assumono personale non iscritto alle Unions, spesso contravvenendo alla legge. In passato alcune aziende hanno fatto causa alle Union, sostenendo che l’uso di questi ratti gonfiabili è illegale “poiché equivale a un picchettaggio non autorizzato". Nell’America della crisi economica questi Union Rats stanno spuntando come funghi un po’ovunque, spesso a pochi metri di distanza dalle festive e luccicanti decorazioni natalizie che già adornano le grandi città come New York e Chicago.

Inflatable rats appear to Venice
Walking through the streets of Venice arrival nie near a garden where they appear giant rats. After careful investigation I discover that these are the so-called Union Rats regularly used by American unions to protest against the employers who employ staff not writing to the Unions, often in contravention of the law. In the past some companies have sued the Union, arguing that the use of these inflatable rat is illegal "because it amounts to an unauthorized picket. " In America the economic crisis these Union Rats are popping up almost everywhere, often a few meters away from the glittering and festive Christmas decorations already adorn the big cities like New York and Chicago.

Thomas Hirschhorn, alla Biennale di Venezia

Nel 1980 l’artista lavorò a Parigi come grafico. Fece parte del gruppo Grapus costituito da designers e grafici. Questi artisti si ispiravano alla politica e alla cultura, mostrando le loro creazioni sulla strada attraverso il linguaggio della pubblicità. Hirschhorn lasciò il Grapus per creare quelle installazioni artistiche per cui è diventato famoso oggi, usando materiali comuni come il cartone, la plastica e il nastro adesivo. Le sue installazioni sono spesso situate fuori dalle gallerie oltre che interattive.
Per la sua opera intitolata Cavemanman ha trasformato lo spazio di una galleria in una caverna usando legna, cassette e materiali comuni, e collocando vari simboli filosofici della cultura pop. Ricevette nel 2000/2001 il Premio Marcel Duchamp e il Premio Joseph Beuys nel 2004. I suoi lavori sono esposti nella collezione del Moma, del Walker Art Center, e alla Tate.
Nell’estate 2009 la sua opera Cavemanman fu ricreata per l’esibizione "Walkin in my Mind" al Hayward Gallery di Londra.

In 1980 the artist worked as a graphic designer in Paris. Grapus was part of the group consisting of designers and graphic designers. These artists were inspired by politics and culture, showing their creations on the road through the language of advertising. Hirschhorn Grapus left to create those artistic installations for which he has become famous today, using common materials such as cardboard, plastic and tape. His installations are often located outside the galleries as well as interactive. For his work entitled Cavemanman has transformed the space of a tunnel in a cave using wood, boxes and common materials, and placing various symbols of the philosophical culture. He received the award in 2000/2001 Marcel Duchamp and Joseph Beuys Award in 2004. His works are exhibited in the collection of MoMA, the Walker Art Center, and the Tate.
Cavemanman summer of 2009 his work was recreated for the exhibition "Walkin 'In My Mind" at the Hayward Gallery in London.

Anish Kapoor alla Biennale ma anche in mostra a Milano

Anish Kapoor (Bombay. 1954) è uno scultore e architetto indiano. Nato da padre indiano e da madre ebrea irachena, a diciannove anni, dopo aver studiato due anni in Israele in una scuola di elettronica, si sposta in Inghilterra per iscriversi alla scuola d'arte, desideroso di approfondire una ricerca che lo portasse a rispettare maggiormente le sue ragioni interiori. Si appassiona alle macchine celibi di Marchel Duchamp e conosce colui che diverrà il suo maestro Paul Neàgu. Si ispira anche all'arte povera e Joseph Beuys.

L’anno della svolta è 1990: è l'anno della partecipazione alla XLIV Biennale di Venezia e si presenta come il rappresentante della Gran Bretagna.

Kapoor è sicuramente uno degli scultori più influenti e all'avanguardia della sua generazione; emerso agli inizi degli anni ottanta le sue opere hanno sempre incontrato il rispetto e l'apprezzamento di pubblico vasto e non specialistico, nonché la benedizione dei critici.

Anish Kapoor (Bombay. 1954) is an Indian architect and sculptor. Born to a Jewish mother and Indian father in Iraq, at nineteen, after studying two years in Israel in a school of electronics, travels to England to enroll in art school, eager to deepen the research that would lead to greater respect its internal reasons. Falls in love with Marcel Duchamp's bachelor machines and knows who will become his teacher Paul Neagu. It also draws on Arte Povera and Joseph Beuys. Breakthrough year was 1990: the year of participation in the XLIV Venice Biennale, and presents itself as the representative of Britain. Kapoor is one of the most influential and innovative sculptors of his generation emerged in the early eighties his work has always met with respect and appreciation of non-specialist audience, and as well as the blessing of critics.
